The quality of Shifman mattress is superb. We own quite a few mattress by Shifman. One is almost a decade yr old. Still in excellent conditions.the new one is for guest room and our guests said they’d a good night sleep on it.

I bought it as a gift and they were very happy with it. They had actually tried it out first in the store and talked to the sales rep about the different versions and quality before advising me which mattress they wanted. So all I had to do was call the sales rep to charge it. I had bought the same brand from Bloomingdale’s several years earlier. And when they visited me they slept on my Shifman mattress in the guest room. Which they apparently really liked. That was what they wanted for Christmas.

This is our 2nd Shifman, 1st one was bought also from Bloomingdales and old one is still a lot more comfortable.Both were described as Firm. Paid similar amount for both (new one was little more more but inflation...) New one has coils that create a wide valley on mattress when my husband 190 pounds lies down on it, so I rolled down (I'm 106 pounds) toward him. The old one is not like that. Also: Very heavy, difficult to flip and lift, also a pain to put fitted sheet over it. Not enough padding (comparing to old one, same price, also firm) Description says 11.5 inch high, definitely not, maybe 10-10 1/2 the most. Probably shouldn't buy it without seeing it but there is no store by us and we liked old mattress and thought it would be the same.

Thinner than described
Our 2-nd Sifman mattress, similar price, but unfortunately I do not think is as good or comfortable. It sinks a lot under my husband (186 pounds) and old one does not. Description on website says it is 11.5", I measure it from top to bottom , the way is recommended to measure mattresses (not from edge cord) and it is about 9.5" so around 2" thinner. Also, it could use little more cotton. Our 1st mattress ( about 8 years old) is also very firm and slightly thinner but feels better padded. Overall this is a decent mattress just not as good as I expected.
