Miele - not cheap but a greate choice

I have always favored Hoover vacuum cleaners. After buying the Miele stick vacuum, I was so happy I purchased this one

Disappointed in suction power

I was disappointed in this vacuum. It looks cool and feels well made. However, for its price point of >$600 original price and being brand new, I expected great suction power. I tried all the modes on my carpet and there were no vacuum lines that show I went over an area, which was concerning and meant that the carpet fibers were not moved to stand upright. Also, vacuuming the stairs was difficult because I didn’t feel confident to leave the appliance on a stair as I moved the wand back and forth. I will contact customer service to initiate return.
