Black soot developed inside.

I would have selected a 0 star rating if I could. I bought this kettle several years ago. It's really beautiful and works well. I used it most evenings for boiling water for tea. To clean it, I would rinse the inside with hot soapy water and rinse well. One day I used a dish rag in it and the rag was covered in black soot. I had no idea how long it had been that way. The water was alway clear coming out. I threw the kettle in the trash. I recently took a heavy metals test and nickel showed up really high so I'm thinking this may have been the reason.

Le Great Kettle

The Le Creuset Kettle is both attractive and very functional with good weight to absorb heat. If you want to boil water this is the kettle to use!

Tea kettles done right

No company has ever improved on this classic. It heats super fast, will last longer than me and looks great. WORTH the money.

Did they even test it before selling it?

Poorly designed in every aspect, especially for the price and reputation. Handle way too hot, can only fill 1/2 way, lid hard to get on and off, lousy pour (splashes everywhere), steam escapes all around the lid. My Nambe lasted 25 years and was better designed in every respect

Spout drips when pouring coffee into filter.

Not good for coffee pour overs as spout drips water.

Not great

This was given to me as a house warming gift ! Not the beat kettle. The whistle is low, the handle gets hot and pour is messy. Keep looking !
