Purchase price is about fair market value

I recently purchased this exact diamond pendant and had it independently appraised for insurance purposes. It still boggles my mind that Bloomingdales does not include a GIA certified appraisal for the items they list, such as this. The appraisal value I received by a GIA certified jeweler was 40% of the listed $22,000 price. Moral of the story...the current sale price is close to the appraised value of what you are purchasing. Do not be fooled by the so-called sale price. To be equal in my review, my wife is pleased with the pendant and I essentially got what I paid for despite the listed $22,000 original price which I did not pay. Now I know why Bloomingdales does not include an appraisal for what they sell. By the way, this is the second purchase from their fine jewelry collection. The first experience was no different. Alway wait for the lowest price on the item you are looking at. It will eventually come down to a fair price. Fortunately, they do have a return policy.
